Our goal:

Our goal at GEORGINA D'ANGELO ® is to plant as many trees as possible. This will not only allow us to contribute towards reforestation, but contribute to offsetting the carbon that is created by us from shipping, and producing. While we do use UPS carbon neutral for shipping, and offset our yearly carbon; Adding this extra step allows us to ensure that we are are really offsetting everything and possibly even contributing more.

Why Trees:

​

We chose trees as a method for offsetting because they are planted in an area that is protected from deforestation. With this protection, these trees are able to grow to their full lifespan and collect as much carbon as possible. We do also contribute to carbon offsetting projects that also help combine with the offsetting process, as the trees planted must grow to a specific point, to start capturing large amounts of Co2. When:

We offset each order placed with a tree every 2-15 days. We currently bulk offset which means we plant 25 trees or more at a time (this also applies to our newsletter tree program*). This means that we usually wait until we meet a specific number until we fund more tree planting. However, If the number isn't met within 15 days, we plant the number of orders, newsletter signups, and contribute the remaining if the minimum isn't met.

Locating our trees:

You can visit our account that keeps track of how many trees we have planted + carbon we have offset by clicking here. We use Ecologi to plant trees for every order placed, newsletter signups*, yearly carbon, shipping in handling, and travel. After we have contributed your tree, we will email you with a link, that showcases which tree group your tree is in. It will include the location, age of the tree, and what project it is helping fund. We thank you for allowing us to contribute more.

Types of trees:

​

While every tree is important, we fund the most carbon capturing trees. Here, you can discover what trees are primarily used by Ecologi. Ecologi works with Eden Reforestation Projects to help get these trees planted. The most common planted trees that are planted are the Mangrove tree. This tree captures x2 more carbon than the average tropical tree. You will notice that Carbon offsetting is also included in our Ecologi page. This current number showcased on our Ecologi page, is carbon that we offset separately. Not only do we fund trees, but also off set carbon, with Ecologi.

Verifications:

GEORGINA D'ANGELO is now adding asterisk to every order placed so you can see in our ecologi profile, which trees are business related, and from customer impact. In addition to this verification, here is Ecologi's Public Impact and Operations ledgers data which allows you to view how their impact towards reforestation and carbon reduction is going.

*We are planting a tree for each newsletter sign up, for a limited time. As of 07/01/21, an asterisk will be added to orders/sign-up contributing trees, to differentiate the trees in our 'forest' .
